PLAIN-LANGUAGE DATA NOTE
Participation without a profile.
What this prototype stores
- Aggregate action counts, round number, mode, and timestamps for up to 24 hours.
- A keyed, per-session hash for Twitch participant deduplication. Raw Twitch IDs and raw chat messages are not written to the database.
- A temporary signed browser token so a companion participant can contribute once per round. It is not linked to Twitch identity, and the same person using both routes may contribute once through each route.
- Twitch OAuth tokens, if configured, are encrypted at rest on the server. The overlay and companion page never receive them.
What it does not do
- No names, ranks, individual callouts, disability or access profiles, biometrics, or speech recognition.
- No chat replies, moderation actions, or speed-based scoring.
- The anonymous browser token is a privacy-preserving convenience, not strong identity verification. Replacing the browser token may allow another companion contribution.
Limitations
Quiet Quest is an access-first prototype, not an accessibility certification. Test with the people and assistive technology relevant to your channel. Anonymous companion votes and Twitch chat identity are separate by design.
Session and contribution records expire after 24 hours. Streamers can end or reset a session sooner. Twitch authorization can be disconnected in the studio.
